Aldea Xaan Ha Tulum Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Aldea Xaan Ha Tulum, you immediately feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special — and honestly, you kind of have. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Tulum City Centre, which means you’re perfectly positioned between the ancient ruins and those Instagram-famous beach clubs. The design hits that sweet spot between modern comfort and authentic Mexican charm, with natural materials and earthy tones that actually feel genuine rather than trying too hard.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in the actual town center, not stuck out on the beach road where everything costs twice as much. You can walk to local taquerias, grab groceries, and experience real Tulum life, but the ruins are still just a quick bike ride away. The hotel provides parking on-site (which is honestly a godsend in Tulum), and you’ll find yourself using it as a home base to explore both the archaeological zone and the beach clubs down south. Couples seem to really get this setup — the rating reflects how perfect it is for romantic getaways where you want options.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d hope for in Tulum — clean lines, natural textures, and that crucial air conditioning that works properly. The beds are comfortable (not always a given in boutique Mexican hotels), and there’s enough space to spread out your beach gear and evening clothes. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the bathrooms and the way they’ve managed to create privacy while still feeling connected to the tropical surroundings. It’s not over-the-top, just thoughtfully designed.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast situation here is actually quite impressive — they’ve got continental options alongside American classics, plus vegetarian and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I mean, finding decent gluten-free options in Tulum can be hit or miss, so having reliable choices right at the hotel is pretty convenient. The restaurant area has this relaxed vibe where you can linger over coffee and plan your day, whether that’s heading to the cenotes or claiming a spot at one of the beach clubs.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances everything couples want from a Tulum experience. You’re not paying beach-road prices, but you’re also not sacrificing comfort or style. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try to be the most exclusive or expensive option in town. It’s just a really solid choice that lets Tulum itself be the star of your trip — which, honestly, is exactly how it should be.

Locals suggest to book apartments in Tulum around La Veleta for craft bakeries, yoga shalas, and low-key cocktail dens.

Good price/value ratio. Easy self check in process. We were sent a lot of useful information before our arrival. Beautiful and clean room with well kept pool and garden.
Good breakfast with few choices included in the price. Private parking in front of the property.

  • Fernande from Netherlands (8/10)

The beds were big and the appartement is really big. It’s 2 min from the city by car. The owner was really available by phone for us.

  • Gessner from Brazil (9/10)

Very nice apartment, perfect for a family of 4. Nice pool area as well. And they have a coffee shop with breakfast included, that is pretty convenient.

  • Nikhil from United Kingdom (9/10)

Alex, the property manager was very helpful. He ensured that our stay was pleasant. We were in this property when Hurricane Beryl passed through the Yucatan Peninsula. Alex kept in constant touch with us and provided all the necessary stuff. The kids loved the swimming pool. The cafe/restaurant on this property is amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Bert from Belgium (9/10)

Very nice place! The owners are very fast to reply and make sure you have all you need. Very clean and beautiful surroundings. A bit out of town, away from all the busy roads and noisy bars so not for the party people. But if you want to be in a nice and quiet garden with great rooms, this is it! Also the adjecent coffee bar where breakfast is served is very nice too and has great staff.

  • Maruša from Estonia (9/10)

Jungle-like setting, helpful host Alex, great breakfast in Aroma Café.

  • Bert from Belgium (9/10)

Super nice and chill atmosphere, away from the busy and noisy city.
You feel like you are in the jungle, birds chirping and the trees in the garden are beautiful.
The rooms are very spacious and modern. Airco is needed and available in each room.
Breakfast in the adjecent coffee place was simple but very tasty. If you want, there is a wide variety of things you can add for a minor extra price. Overall very good value for money. Actually already going back there next week when we pass by again.

  • Jojhan from Australia (9/10)

The place was great, comfortable, clean, great facilities and good pool. Also, the breakfast was amazing with different options to choose from. Also there is a CAFE so you can get online while you enjoy a great coffee. There is free parking area and i would recommend a car to make your experience easier in Tulum (cost of the taxis = renting a basic car).

  • Hollie from United Kingdom (9/10)

We loved the pool, very relaxing and serene. The rooms were big and spacious.
The breakfast was simple but enough and we loved the jungle vibe.

  • Hh63 from France (8/10)

Clean and well equipped, very nice pool and garden area. Cheap fares. Rather large room.
