You’re positioned perfectly between Tulum’s beach zone and the town center, which means you can actually explore both without breaking the bank on taxis every day. The archaeological site is maybe a 10-minute drive, and you can reach those famous cenotes like Gran Cenote or Dos Ojos pretty easily from here. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to some authentic local spots for dinner — you know, the kind of places where you’re not paying beach club prices for tacos. The location consistently gets high marks from guests, and after staying here, I totally get why.

The Rooms & Amenities

The accommodations have this refined, minimalist vibe that feels authentically Mexican without being overly themed. My room had these beautiful natural materials — lots of wood and stone — that kept things cool even during the hottest part of the day. The fitness area is compact but well-equipped, and honestly, the swimming pool becomes your best friend by mid-afternoon. There’s also this great solarium where you can actually get some sun without dealing with beach crowds, which turned out to be perfect for lazy mornings with coffee.

The Tulum Experience

What sets Casa Chiit apart is how it lets you experience Tulum like you’re staying in a neighborhood rather than a resort bubble. You’ll hear roosters in the morning (I mean, you’re in the jungle), but you’re also close enough to bike into town for groceries or hit up that amazing little bakery on Avenida Tulum. The staff seems to genuinely know the area — they pointed me toward this incredible local restaurant that I never would have found otherwise, and their cenote recommendations were spot-on.

This place has earned its 9.5 rating because it strikes that perfect balance between comfort and authenticity that’s honestly hard to find in Tulum these days. Couples especially seem to love it here, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about the setting without it feeling forced or overly curated.   We did not get the code for the lockbox from the host previously. Upon arrival, I called the host to get the code and then had to wait over 10min. Then the security called them and put us on the phone and they finally gave me the code. Very in convenient
