When I first pulled up to Encantada Tulum, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star spot along the Boca Paila road. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that surprise you. This place sits right in that sweet spot — about 8.7 kilometers down the coastal road where the jungle meets the Caribbean, and it’s got this understated elegance that feels authentically Tulum without trying too hard.

Location & Getting Around

The location here is actually brilliant, and I mean that. You’re positioned in what locals consider the best part of Tulum’s hotel zone, close enough to the beach clubs and cenotes but far enough from the crowds that descend on the main strips. The free parking is a genuine lifesaver — trust me, you’ll appreciate not having to worry about where to leave your rental car when you want to explore the ruins or head into town for dinner. Couples seem to get this location particularly well, which makes sense given how romantic those sunset walks along this stretch of beach can be.

The Room Experience

My room had that perfect balance of comfort and local character that’s surprisingly hard to find in Tulum. The design feels intentionally minimal — think natural materials, soft lighting, and those little touches that remind you you’re in the Riviera Maya without hitting you over the head with it. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was at night. You get the sound of the ocean and the jungle, but none of the party noise that can plague other spots along this coast.

Morning Rituals

Breakfast here is continental style, which works perfectly when you want to grab something quick and head out to explore cenotes or catch the sunrise at the ruins. They also do breakfast to go, which honestly saved me more than once when I had early morning plans. The coffee is solid — not spectacular, but definitely better than what you’ll find at most beachfront places. I found myself lingering over morning meals longer than planned, probably because the whole atmosphere just encourages you to slow down a bit.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something about Encantada Tulum that just works, you know? It’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the beach, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re in Tulum. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, the location puts you right where you want to be without the chaos, and the whole vibe encourages you to disconnect and enjoy what this part of Mexico is really about. That 9.5 rating isn’t an accident — it’s what happens when a place focuses on doing the fundamentals really well rather than chasing trends.

  My partner and I came here for our honeymoon to relax and unwind. What we got far exceeded our expectations.
  
  The room was beautiful and so close to the beach that we were falling asleep to crashing waves each night. When we woke up all we had to do was message reception that we wanted breakfast and coffee and it would be up in and instant to eat on our balcony.
  
  The staff here are out are obviously passionate about customer service. They did everything to ensure that our stay was as good as it could be. For instance, we had rose pedals on our bed and a bottle of champagne on arrival.
  
  The staff were so helpful with giving us locations to go explore, like the grand cenote, chichen itza, and others. I had a very minor accident in the car and the receptionist called the insurance company and sorted it all out for me.
  
  Honestly, it was such a perfect place to relax.

  It’s private, quiet, and really feels like paradise. The staff are all very friendly. It’s great to be able to go to the front desk or use What’s App to communicate any needs. The food and drinks are all excellent. The rooms are wonderful, clean, and very comfortable. On top of their gorgeous beach, ability to use the pool and spa facilities of their partner properties was really great! Would definitely recommend.

  What a little paradise! Everything was perfect – the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and spacious. Staff is wonderful, very thoughtful and all them are gems!
  Food is also great at the restaurant with good options.

  My entire stay at Encandtada from start to finish was abolsutrly exceptional. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful – they did everything to make my stay the best it could possible be. The inclusive breakfast was SO tasty, and the geenral menu was really varied (the ceviche and fish tacos were incredible). The beach felt perfectly secluded and relaxing and the access to the pool at Radhoo made it even better. I also enjoyed having an exclusive one-on-one yoga class on my veranda. It was honestly paradise and I would return in a heartbeat

  The location is perfect, right on a beautiful, fine sand beach along the hotel/restaurant road in Tulum. The facilities are intimate and designed for private comfort. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The food is excellent at the hotel, and there are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The best part, however, is an attentive, friendly and caring staff—from the concierges to the servers to the bell workers. All were hugely accommodating and made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay.

  Everything! Luxury small hotel. The staff was amazingly helpful and nice. The hospitality of this place is just amazing! The room was spacious and had a super comfortable bed. Very good food is available to be ordered to the room or to the beach. I can't recommend more this place.
