The design feels fresh and contemporary — honestly, it’s exactly what you’d hope for in a four-star property in Tulum. There’s this clean, minimalist vibe that somehow manages to feel warm rather than sterile, which isn’t always easy to pull off.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re actually in Tulum’s city center, not stuck out by the beach zone where everything costs twice as much. The hotel sits on Calle Polar, and while that might not mean much if you’re new to the area, trust me when I say it puts you within walking distance of some genuinely good local spots. You know what’s great? Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 8.8), probably because you can easily explore both the downtown scene and make day trips to the ruins or cenotes without feeling like you’re constantly commuting.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not huge, but everything felt intentional. The bed was comfortable, and I mean actually comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. What struck me was the attention to details like good lighting and enough outlets in useful places, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to charge devices and get ready. The bathroom was modern and well-maintained, with a nice shower setup and quality toiletries that added to the overall experience.

Dining & Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves solid food that leans into local flavors without being overly touristy about it. I had breakfast there a couple times, and while it’s not going to blow your mind, it’s definitely good enough that you won’t feel like you need to venture out every morning. The staff actually knows the menu well and can make decent recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for. There’s also a nice common area where you can hang out with a drink — nothing fancy, but it works. The hotel also features a spa facility for guests looking to unwind after exploring the city.

Recent guests have been rating the location at 9.0, and after spending time here, I get why. You’re positioned perfectly to experience Tulum as more than just a beach destination — the downtown area has this authentic energy that you miss if you only stick to the hotel zone. The property strikes this nice balance between being polished enough for a comfortable stay while keeping things relaxed and unpretentious. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend, rather than just another tourist hotel that happens to be in Tulum.

  The bed was comfortable, an especially important point after hours of travel. The room was quiet, as a light sleeper this is a priority. Proximity to the ADO bus station, Kanté Hotel is literally behind ADO — but, given how the hotel is built, complete with a wall waterfall, the room was quiet. Finally, the staff was friendly, quick to assist with questions and more.

  Absolutely 5star !!!!!
  We cannot praise the Kante Hotel team enough for their kindness and hospitality.
  We had arrived after a long bus journey from Chetumal and Omar welcomed us and suggested places to eat and how to arrange trips to the Cenotes and Archeological zone of Tulum.
  Unfortunately one of our family members was suffering from food poisoning from Chetumal and by the following morning was very poorly. Without hesitation, Omar kindly drove us to the local Doctor and then to the hospital as an IV drip was needed urgently. 4 to 5 hours later he then collected us – we cannot thank him enough. The world needs more Omar’s !!!
  On our return to the hotel, his team were so caring and understanding and even made some suitable food for our daughter.
  
  The hotel itself is in a great location for amenities and the bus station. It is beautiful inside with the stairs rising through a tree and other tropical greenery also a pool, the rooms are very comfortable, clean, and well appointed.
