There’s free parking on site too, which is honestly a relief if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the cenotes.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully laid out — you know what I appreciated most? The air conditioning actually worked properly, which isn’t always a given in this part of Mexico. The bathroom was modern with good water pressure, and they’ve got these nice touches like locally-made toiletries and blackout curtains that actually block out the light. The beds are comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, which matters when you’re staying more than just a night or two.

Breakfast here is continental style, nothing fancy but definitely solid — fresh fruit, good coffee, and they’ll even pack you a breakfast to go if you’re heading out early for a cenote tour or to beat the crowds at the ruins. I actually used the grab-and-go option a couple times, and it’s perfect when you want to catch sunrise at the beach. They don’t have a full restaurant on site, but honestly, being in La Veleta means you’re walking distance to some really good local spots that aren’t tourist traps.

  The large living room with a stone floor was pleasantly warm, and the kitchen service area had underfloor heating. The bed was comfortable and large. The spacious balcony was enjoyable. Washing conditions were satisfactory, with hot water available quickly and abundantly; this was definitely a plus for the accommodation.
  The beach is quite close to the accommodation, a few minutes by car and about fifteen minutes by bike.
