Orchid House Tulum Jungle Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Orchid House Tulum Jungle feels like discovering a secret hideaway that someone forgot to put on the map. This five-star boutique property sits tucked away in Aldea Zama, where the jungle literally grows around your room — and I mean that in the best possible way. The design here is what happens when luxury meets the wild side of Tulum, with floor-to-ceiling windows that blur the line between inside and outside. You’ll hear howler monkeys in the morning instead of traffic, which honestly took some getting used to but became my favorite wake-up call.
Location & Neighborhood
Aldea Zama is sort of Tulum’s sweet spot — close enough to the beach zone that you’re not stuck in traffic for an hour, but far enough from the party scene that you can actually sleep. The hotel’s position on Calle Kinich Na puts you about a 10-minute bike ride from the ruins and maybe 15 minutes to the best beach clubs. What I really appreciated was having actual restaurants within walking distance (not just overpriced hotel food), plus a decent grocery store when you need basics. The jungle setting means you’re sharing space with coatis and iguanas, which sounds intimidating but they’re mostly just curious about your breakfast.
The Suites
These aren’t just rooms — they’re more like jungle pavilions with serious style. Each suite feels completely private, wrapped in greenery with these massive terraces that become your outdoor living space. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, with rain showers that open to the sky and soaking tubs where you can watch birds while you relax. Air conditioning works perfectly (crucial in this humidity), but you’ll find yourself wanting to keep the doors open to hear the jungle sounds. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and the blackout curtains actually work when you need to sleep past sunrise.
Dining & Amenities
The on-site restaurant focuses on local ingredients with a sophisticated twist — think fresh ceviche with tropical fruits you’ve never heard of, and cocktails made with regional spirits. Breakfast on the terrace while watching toucans is pretty magical, though service can be leisurely (this is Mexico, after all). The spa treatments incorporate traditional Mayan techniques, and getting a massage while listening to the jungle is surprisingly meditative. There’s also a beautiful cenote-inspired pool that feels like swimming in a natural lagoon, plus they provide bikes for exploring the area.
Why Guests Love It
This place really shines for couples looking for something special — the combination of luxury and nature creates this romantic atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. The staff genuinely cares about making your stay memorable, offering insider tips about hidden cenotes and local spots that aren’t overrun with tourists. What sets Orchid House apart is how it manages to feel both sophisticated and wild, giving you that jungle adventure without sacrificing comfort. You’re paying premium prices, but for the level of privacy, service, and that incredible setting, it’s worth it for a special occasion or when you want to completely disconnect from the world.
The luxury concierge service in Tulum secures sunrise yacht charters, VIP beach club tables, and bespoke wellness itineraries under jungle canopies.

This was my husband and I second time staying there. We love Orchid House, it's like being in an exotic tree house. Love the swim up bar, it's small pool, but it does the trick. Welcome drink is delicious and their cocktails and food are very good and they have healthy options available. Recommend renting a bike a trying all the many restaurants Tulum has to offer.

The rooms are fantastic, comfortable beds, black out curtains and a large TV. They gave us a delicious welcome drink too, which we enjoyed. The shower and bathroom was very spacious, good hot water. I loved the smell of the shampoos and soaps. Staff were friendly and you can refill your water bottle at the hotel for free. The outdoor tub had great hot water and filled up quickly. Nice area, super safe and a few good eating spots only an easy walk away. We also visited the sister beach club for a day, which is free for people staying, and it was gorgeous! So many different seating options and a lovely bar and staff.
