First Impressions

When I first pulled up to RELAX TULUM APARTMENT, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t look like much from street level. But that’s actually part of its charm in this rapidly developing part of Tulum. The real magic happens when you take that elevator up to the rooftop, and suddenly you’re standing on 4000 square feet of pure vacation bliss. I mean, the name says it all, but seeing those multiple pools stretching across the terrace with the jungle canopy spreading out beyond? That’s when you know you’ve found something special.

The Rooftop Experience

This four-star property’s crown jewel is absolutely that massive rooftop space. There are actually several pools up there — not just one — which means you’re never fighting for space even when other guests are around. The BBQ area is properly set up too, with good equipment that actually works (you know how hit-or-miss that can be). What really got me was sitting up there in the evening with a drink, watching the jungle come alive as the sun sets. You can hear howler monkeys in the distance, and honestly, it feels like you’re floating above the treetops.

Location and Getting Around

The Colonia Xul Kaa area is sort of the sweet spot in Tulum right now — close enough to everything but not in the thick of the tourist chaos. You’re about a 10-minute drive to the beach clubs along the coast, and the ruins are easily accessible. What I really appreciated was the free private parking, which is actually a big deal here since finding secure parking in Tulum can be a real headache. Recent guests have been rating the location a solid 9.0, and I get why — it’s that perfect balance of accessibility without the noise.

The Apartment Itself

Inside, the space feels genuinely spacious and well-thought-out. The apartment has this modern, clean aesthetic that works well with the tropical setting outside. Air conditioning works reliably (crucial in this humidity), and the kitchen is actually functional if you want to prep some food for those rooftop BBQ sessions. The beds are comfortable, and there’s enough storage space that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. It’s clear they’ve designed this place for people who want to settle in for more than just a night or two.

Why Guests Love It

Couples have been absolutely raving about this place, and after staying here, I totally understand the appeal. There’s something incredibly romantic about having your own private jungle-view pool experience without the crowds you’d find at the big resorts. The combination of that epic rooftop space, the solid location, and the fact that you can actually park your car safely makes it feel like you’ve discovered Tulum’s best-kept secret. It’s the kind of place where you end up spending way more time at the property than you planned — and you’re completely fine with that.

  I loved everything about my stay. There were so many things that I hadn't considered that was available here. The restaurant is amazing, the grounds are attractive amd picturesque, and the location is great if you have a rental car. It is equipped with all the modern amenities and great wifi. Hot water for showering is available as well. The fridge was stacked with 2 beers and ice to boot. I am very satisfied with everything here. The staff was super helpful in assisting me to get a taxi to my activities outside the apartment.

  Aangenaam en ruim appartement dat luxueus is ingericht. Je vindt hier alles wat je nodig hebt en meer. De keuken is zeer compleet iingericht en je kan hier makkelijk zelf eens iets koken.
  Er staan ook water en enkele flesjes bier voor je klaar als je toekomt wat wel attent is.
  De communicatie met de vriendelijke eigenaren verliep zeer vlot en ze geven je tips waar je in de omgeving naartoe kan.
  Wij hadden het moeilijk met het feit dat de bewakers je vragen je paspoort bij hen achter te laten voor de duur van je verblijf. We gaven door aan de eigenaar dat dit volgens ons niet kan en zij besprak dit met het management van het domein. Er werd ons verteld dat dit in de toekomst niet meer nodig zou zijn.
  Het domein ligt een beetje afgelegen maar dit wisten we op voorhand en je krijgt er veel rust voor in de plaats. Voor ons was deze locatie geen probleem gezien we een huurauto hadden. Deze kan ook gewoon op het domein geparkeerd worden bij je appartement en staat dus veilig.
  Er zijn verschillende zwembaden waar je gebruik van kan maken en er zijn ook strandlakens voorzien en een aantal ligstoelen.
  Mochten wij ooit terugkeren naar Tulum dan zouden wij hier zeker graag opnieuw verblijven!
