What really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to create an intimate atmosphere that feels genuinely romantic rather than trying too hard.

Location & Getting Around

The hotel sits right in the heart of Tulum on Calle 18 sur, which honestly couldn’t be better positioned. You’re close enough to walk to the main strip with all the trendy restaurants and shops, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the noise and crowds. I mean, the fact that there’s parking available right at the hotel is actually a huge plus — most places in this area make you hunt around for street parking or charge extra fees.

The Accommodation Experience

Each room feels like a private sanctuary, and I’m not just saying that. The attention to detail is remarkable — from the locally-sourced textiles to the way natural light filters through the space. What I really appreciated was how they’ve incorporated traditional Mexican design elements without making it feel like a theme park. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, with rainfall showers that actually have good water pressure (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in this part of Mexico).

Dining & Culinary Experience

The on-site restaurant serves what I’d call elevated Mexican cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. Breakfast was definitely a highlight — fresh tropical fruits, perfectly prepared eggs, and coffee that actually rivals what you’d find in Mexico City. They source a lot of their produce from nearby farms, which you can taste in every bite. The evening menu changes seasonally, but when I was there, the seafood dishes were absolutely outstanding.

Why Couples Love This Place

It’s easy to see why this spot has become such a favorite for romantic getaways. The whole property has this intimate, secluded feel that makes you forget there are other guests around. The pool area is designed with these little nooks and private seating areas where you can actually have a conversation without feeling like you’re on display. Plus, the staff seems to genuinely understand that couples want privacy — they’re attentive without being intrusive, which is honestly a rare skill in hospitality.

  Rubi Tulum is an amazing hotel, both the rooms and the exterior of the hotel were absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the luxury villa which was equipped with a private outdoor pool, kitchenette, bath tub/ shower and living room. It was stunning! The staff also helped my husband set up birthday balloons so I was completely surprised when we walked into the room. The bed was very comfortable and the decor suited the environment so well. We loved it! The pool and facilities at the place were also outstanding. The pool was pretty big and there was a cold tub and hot tub, as well. There were lots of seating options around the pool, including day beds and lounge chairs. The restaurant onsite is amazing, shoutout to the chef! We had dinner and breakfast there. They were trying out a new breakfast menu so we had the opportunity to try out the heuvos rancheros, super good. It was overall such a serene setting for a hotel and we would absolutely go back. Alan, Dianne, and all the staff were excellent!

  It’s really hard to fault this amazing hotel. I felt totally relaxed and at peace in the stunning jungle setting with well-thought out touches and amazing customer service everywhere you turn. I will definitely need a repeat visit.
