The Yellow Nest Tulum Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to The Yellow Nest Tulum, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the name — but this five-star property immediately caught my attention with its striking architecture nestled among the jungle canopy. Located right on the Cancun-Tulum highway near Parque Dos Ojos, it’s actually positioned perfectly if you want that luxury resort feel while still being close to the cenotes and archaeological sites that make this area so special. The property has this organic, almost nest-like design that blends seamlessly with the surrounding tropical landscape.
Location & Getting Around
You know what I really appreciated? The location strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and seclusion. Sure, you’re about 15 minutes from Tulum’s main strip, but that distance actually works in your favor — you get the tranquility without the crowds, plus there’s parking right on-site which, trust me, is a huge relief in this area. The cenotes at Parque Dos Ojos are practically next door, and I found myself making multiple trips there during my stay. Couples seem to particularly love this spot, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being tucked away in the jungle yet still having easy access to everything.
The Room Experience
My room was honestly impressive — spacious, thoughtfully designed, and with those floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you’re sleeping in a luxury treehouse. The attention to detail really shows, from the locally-sourced materials to the way natural light filters through during different times of day. What I didn’t expect was how well the air conditioning worked (crucial in this humidity) and the quality of the linens — sometimes these boutique places skimp on the basics, but not here.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The American-style breakfast was actually a pleasant surprise — I mean, I was expecting something more generic, but they’ve managed to elevate familiar dishes with local ingredients and presentation. The restaurant area has this open-air design that lets you feel the jungle breeze while you’re eating, which honestly made even simple meals feel special. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, just watching the light change through the trees.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this place gets a 9.2 rating for good reason — it’s that rare combination of luxury and authenticity that’s hard to find in Tulum these days. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and there’s this sense that you’re staying somewhere that respects both comfort and the natural environment. If you’re the type who wants to feel pampered while still having easy access to cenote diving, Mayan ruins, and the real Tulum experience, this is honestly one of the better choices in the area. Just don’t expect to want to leave the property very often — I spent way more time just enjoying the space than I originally planned.

This place is amazing! Staff was super friendly, happy and very engaged and considerate. The accommodation is stunning. We had a Bungalow and loved it. Since it is in the middle of the Jungle, the way there was very bumpy and there are a lot of mosquitos, but they give you repellent. I loved how this place is so connected with nature. Food, Cocktails and Juices are delicious. Never had food this good at a hotel. My partner and I did a tour to a Cenote with a short meditation-session in the cave with Miguel and afterwards we did the Temazcal. It was very adventurous and he adopts the tour to the group. We stayed for 3 nights, the first day (Friday) we just relaxed by the pool and at the restaurant, which we had almost to our self the whole day. Samuel was very engaged and there for any questions.
We loved our stay there and would definitely come back again.Ian from United Kingdom (9/10)
Off the beaten track. Quirky and original. It felt like you were in the middle of jungle. The service (thanks to Sam and staff) was amazing.

Stunningly beautiful architecture with boho vibes, every little detail has been perfectly thought of to capture your heart with having the pleasure to experience a stay in the Myan jungle. Pools are in great areas to capture the sun and local wildlife. The added private pool outside our nest was the icing on the cake. Inside the nest is so spacious with an amazing clay bath, the bed was super comfortable, mini fridge had every drink you could want, hammock outside completed the best RnR vibes this place had to offer! It truly does give ZEN vibes!!!

Beautiful accommodations, great service, and an ideal location make it a standout choice for anyone looking to experience the best of Tulum. The Yellow Nest is known for their 'floating breakfast' and it is indeed a fun experience! 🙂
I highly recommend The Yellow Nest to anyone seeking a memorable and enchanting stay!Kaat from Belgium (8/10)

Look no further. This hotel is the closest thing to paradise you will ever experience. The service is unbeatable; even in palaces, I don't think you could find such great staff. A very special thanks to Samuel, who made our stay even more unforgettable. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Mayan sauna with Luis. It was an incredible experience! The location is beautiful, though you have to earn it since it is 15 minutes from the road on bumpy dirt paths. However, with a bit of careful driving, any normal car can handle it. The rooms are nice, and there is a restaurant on site. The quality of the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. If I had to take three days off from the world, I would definitely go back there without hesitation. Thank you again to Samuel and the entire team for the amazing stay we had.
