Tulum Brew House Hotel Boutique by Cerveceria Tulum Overview

First Impressions

The Tulum Brew House Hotel Boutique by Cerveceria Tulum sits right along the Cancún-Chetumal highway, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up. But you know what? This four-star property completely surprised me. The moment you step inside, there’s this unmistakable aroma of craft beer and fresh hops that tells you immediately — this isn’t your typical beach hotel. It’s actually part of a working brewery, which gives the whole place this authentic, lived-in vibe that I found pretty refreshing.

Location & Getting Around

Being in Tulum means you’re perfectly positioned between the ancient ruins and those Instagram-famous cenotes everyone talks about. The hotel offers parking right on-site, which is honestly a huge relief when you’re exploring this area by car. I mean, you’re about 10 minutes from Tulum’s archaeological zone and maybe 15 from the beach clubs along the coast. The location works especially well for couples — there’s something romantic about having your own little brewery retreat while still being close enough to hit the main attractions.

The Room Experience

My room had this industrial-chic design that played perfectly with the brewery theme — exposed brick, warm wood accents, and these cool metal fixtures that felt both modern and rustic. The beds are actually quite comfortable, and the air conditioning works well (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in Tulum’s humidity). What I really loved was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being right off the main road. The bathrooms are spacious enough, and you get all the basics you need without any unnecessary frills.

The Brewery Experience

Here’s where things get interesting — the on-site brewery isn’t just for show. They’re actually producing some solid craft beers, and you can watch the whole process if you’re into that sort of thing. The restaurant serves up decent Mexican fare that pairs surprisingly well with their house brews. I had their IPA with some tacos al pastor, and it was exactly what I wanted after a day of exploring cenotes. The staff knows their beer, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations based on what you usually drink.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both authentic and comfortable without trying too hard. You’re not paying beach resort prices, but you’re getting something genuinely unique — how many places can you say you’ve stayed at a working brewery in the Riviera Maya? Couples seem to really connect with the intimate atmosphere here, and I can see why. It’s the kind of place where you can have a craft beer at sunset, plan your next day’s adventure, and actually feel like you’re experiencing something distinctly local rather than just another tourist trap.

Reviews of Tulum Brew House Hotel Boutique by Cerveceria Tulum

  • Elizabeth from United Kingdom (8/10)

Reception staff were lovely, could use WhatsApp any time and could ask them for anything. The architecture of the hotel was incredible and stylish. Loved the fact it was a sustainable hotel. Food tasted amazing. Very relaxing vibe. The unlimited beer was delicious and really helpful free water was provided and topped up for our fridge in the room.

  • Szczepan from Poland (8/10)

The hotel is a work of art in itself, really beautiful. The staff is really helpful and kind, a welcome drink on the arrival. The hotel is clean. There is a lot of free beer In the room.

  • Sylwyth from Italy (1/10)

  • Nadina from Germany (3/10)

The location of the hotel was nice but you do need a car.

  • Leona from Australia (6/10)

The design of the precinct was amazing, the rooms were stylish, the spa area going out to the hop garden and its own cenote was vast. The fridge was always stocked with water and beer.
Hotel restaurant food was very good except for the breakfast.
Beer tour of the Brewery was informative.
Location was close to town however you need to consider transport into centro as it is on the freeway and you cannot simply ride a bicycle. You have to consider costs of taxi or we hired a scooter (which is also cost / risk riding on freeway).

    Everything, the design, vibes…

  • Koulash from Switzerland (2/10)

Located next to a road, the hotel was still under construction during our stay. Lost of electricity and noises were not pleasant. Also, the backdoor from the room led to a disposal which was very smelly. The breakfast was "included" but only coffee, fruits and 6 slices of bread was part of it. The reception did not provided us any information about the spa nor the restaurants. The music around the commun pool was very loud and could be heard in the room while trying to sleep. Finally, the room we booked was "with a private pool" which we paid extra, but the room did not have any private pool. Very disappointed and highly NOT recommended

  • Palacios from Mexico (8/10)

We loved that the location was far but not super away from everything. It was a quiet amazing and beautiful spot full of nature around. The service was spectacular, they went further every time they could.
I was surprised by how eco-friendly the place is, and you can totally see it and taste it and the beer is awesome!

There are no words to describe this place, you have to stay to feel it and let it take you.

  • Rogelio from Mexico (8/10)

The rooms are incredibly comfortable, the hotel is beautiful, and the food and beers are out of this world. The staff was very attentive. I definitely recommend this place if you would like to disconnect.

This is the hotel of the Cerveceria Tulum, a great beer, by the way. Lovely organic decoration, a beautiful pool with very comfy beds to relax, plus another rooftop pool with a feature waterfall; that's where we spent the most time. The restaurant has ridiculous prices; we had good food but skipped the wine. We didn't know the beer in the fridge was free until late, so we had a couple of beers, but you can have them all, and they said they'd restock the fridge if you ran out. Overall, it was a very nice experience; despite being right next to the highway, the room was quiet, and we slept great. You can hear the traffic if you are in the pool, though, but it wasn't too bad.
