I mean, you’re literally at the corner of Saturno Poniente and Mercurio, which puts you within walking distance of pretty much everything that matters in town.

The Neighborhood Advantage

What I love about this spot is how it strikes that perfect balance — you’re close enough to the action but far enough from the beach crowds that can get overwhelming. The local taco joints are just around the corner, and there’s this great little market about two blocks away where you can grab fresh fruit and coffee that’s actually good. You know what’s really nice? The area feels safe to walk around at night, which isn’t always a given in tourist areas. Couples seem to really get this place — I can see why it’s rated so highly for romantic getaways.

The Room Experience

The room design is where Unaluna really shows its personality. They’ve gone for this modern Mexican aesthetic that doesn’t feel forced or touristy — think clean lines mixed with local textiles and artwork that actually means something. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the air conditioning works well, which is crucial when you’re dealing with Tulum’s humidity. What surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city center — the soundproofing is better than you’d expect.

Practical Perks

The staff here actually knows the area, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to figure out transportation to the ruins or the best cenotes to visit. They helped me sort out a bike rental that was way cheaper than the tourist traps, and gave me directions to this incredible restaurant that I never would have found otherwise. There’s parking available too, which is honestly a relief if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the Riviera Maya — finding a secure spot in Tulum can be a real headache.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Unaluna isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in town, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s got that sweet spot of being polished without feeling pretentious, local without being rough around the edges. The recent guests aren’t wrong about the location — you can walk to cenotes, catch colectivos to the beach, or just hang out in town without feeling like you’re missing anything. For the price point, you’re getting way more character and authentic Tulum vibes than you would at some of the bigger chain places closer to the hotel zone.

  It was the best place we have staid in Mexico so far. Really beautiful little apartment with the most comfortable bed. It’s super soft so prob not for everyone’s taste but we loved it. Nice shower pressure and hot and cold water, aircon is super nice and quite and even without aircon in during the day the apartment stays quite cool. Nice seating are in top of the building good to watch the moon rise.
  They even provide oil salt and pepper what is hard to find and a blender loved it.

  Nice downtown location and set just off the main road which has tonnes of bars and restaurants. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Nice apartment overall, good value for money but nothing super special. Way cheaper than most properties in Tulúm!

  It's good for a pit stop in Tulum, nothing luxurious, but if you are going to be out all day and only need a place to sleep its fine.
